Special monitoring cell teams raids 601 schools across the state

CHANDIGARH: On the directions of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister Punjab, Special teams of the Education Department conducted surprise checks in 601 Schools of the State with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the Schools. Three Circles namely Jalandhar, Faridkot and Nabha (Patiala) were visited by the special teams at the same time.

Dr. Cheema conducts surprise check at secretary branch of education board

MOHALI: In view to ongoing 10th and 12th board examinations, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab has conducted a surprise check in the secrecy branch of Punjab School Education Board, Mohali. During the visit, he was accompanied by Ms. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal Chairperson, Punjab School Education Board, Mr. C. Raul, Principal Secretary, School Education and Mr. Pardeep Kumar Aggarwal, Director General School Education.

MOHALI: CGC Landran signed MoU with Ligare Voyages Limited. MoU has been signed in travel, tourism and hospitality sectors. It will be a Joint program for IATA presentations and certifications. Students will get International recognition as well as affiliation. This collaboration provides aviation and hospitality students direct access to the series of specialized programs of the aviation sector. Students contributes to world bird count survey

AMRITSAR: In an effort to enjoin environment with education, especially with the fauna and flora, five students of Delhi Public School along with four teachers participated in an International research based project on world bird count survey, organized by Cornell University, Canada.

Aryans College of Engineering organised online gaming competition

MOHALI: Aryans College of Engineering, Chandigarh organised online gaming event for students at its campus. Various games like FIFA, Counter-Strike, and N.F.S. Counter strike were organised at the moment. A first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation was the main attraction of the day. Punjab government instructs educational institutes to follow rules for safety of students

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Government has introduced a Safe School Vehicle Scheme for the purpose of providing safe transport service to school students. Disclosing this here today Punjab Transport Minister Ajit Singh Kohar said that all the educational institutes have been instructed to follow the rules laid down under this scheme.

CGC Jhanjeri Holds Drugs Awareness program under the banner awareness is key to minimize drug addiction.

MOHALI: Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri organized seminar by an expert Dr. Ajit Sidana, Associate Professor, Deptt of Psychiatry, GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh. Dr. Sidana began with the outcome of surveys conducted by various agencies. According to him these surveys provide startling revelations that the people start using drugs as early as at the age of 10 & this first use generally converted into abuse then Harmful use and dependence & finally Addiction. Some of the intoxicants commonly used include tobacco, alcohol, heroin, etc. and some medicines when taken in large quantities, act as drugs.

437 degrees awarded at Indo Global Colleges on 8th Annual Convocation

MOHALI: Four hundred thirty seven degrees students of B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, B.Arch, B.Ed and E.T.T. received degrees at the 8th Annual Convocation of Indo Global Colleges . The Chief Guest on the occasion was Tejinder Pal Sidhu, IAS presently serving as Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar.
