Swine flu death toll crosses 1,800 mark

NEW DELHI: Swine flu claimed 42 more lives across the country taking the death toll due to the virus to 1,809 since January.Over 397 deaths have been reported from Gujarat and in Rajasthan, the toll reached 391.

Swine flu claims another life in Phagwara village

PHAGWARA: A 53-year-old resident of Lakhpur village in this sub division died of suspected swine flu in DMC Hospital Ludhiana last night.The deceased was brought to Phagwara Civil Hospital but referred to Ludhiana, said Senior Medical Officer Kamal Kishore while talking to media this evening.

Punjab govt warns against misleading advertisements by Ayurved practitioners

CHANDIGARH: Acting on the directions of Mr. Surjit Kumar Jyani, Health & Family Welfare Minister of Punjab Mr. Hussan Lal, Secretary-cum-Commissioner AYUSH, Punjab issued directions to prevent objectionable advertisements in print and electronic media by private Ayurvedic practitioners and Ayurveda Siddha and Unani (ASU) drug manufacturers, regarding cure of sexual diseases, for breast enlargement, to increase height and other diseases which falls under the provisions of Drug and Magic Remedies (objectionable advertisement) Act, 1954. The step has been taken to save the life of common public and also prevent harassment being faced by public due such misleading advertisements.

Cashless child birth facility at Govt hospitals under Janani Sishu Surakshan Karyakram
