Day light robbery in Mohali

MOHALI: The robbers numbering six, armed with a pistol and sharp edges weapons in a daring day light robbery looted cash, gold and other articles from a house in Phase 10 here yesterday. The incident took place at 6.30 PM in house No.2035 in phase 10 owned by Col Lajbir Singh Makan(retd). He is away to USA.

The police said that two sons of Col Makan and their families are staying in the house. Hardip Singh elder son of Col Makan had gone to market with his son when robbers struck the home. They thrashed the servant Rupesh. They first hit the wife of Hardeep, identified as Simrat. The robbers snatched a gold bangle and two rings from Simrat. When Harpreet and his wife Gaganbir living on first floor came to rescue, the robbers locked them at gun point. By that time Hardeep also returned from market. He was attacked by robbers before they fled the house.The police is clueless about the robbers who were speaking in Hindi.

Day light robberies in Mohali has become a routine. None of the case is solved by police. The spate of robberies has spread panic among the local citizens.
