Blenders pride Punjab international fashion week 2014 five day 2

LUDHIANA: 5th edition of Blenders Pride Punjab International Fashion Week 2014 witnessed a designer from Mumbai and Kolkata along with the cradle of designers from iNIFD setting new trends in Ludhiana today. BPPIFW endeavours to promote, support designers who have shown on Indian runways and made a mark or created a spark in the industry.

 

Chandigarh, Sunday, Nov 2nd, 2014 (Kulbir Singh Kalsi):-This edition includes showings by the host designer, Sonu Gandhi along with five established Indian and one International designer. In addition to this, Ritu Kolentine will showcase a hair & makeup show and the cradle of designers from iNIFD will highlight new ideas in the fashion industry. A BPPIFW gets a grand opening with a mesmerizing collection by designer duo MonaPali. Sanjana Jon a popular name in the International Fashion Industry is today a force to reckon with. Her glamorous designs will feature as the ‘Grand Finale’ for BPPIFW. A first of its kind fashion theatre – Couple Trouble will be seen on the finale day.

Film actress, Simrankaur Mundi and actor Arjan Bajwa have been appointed as the Style Ambassadors for BPPIFW. Industry stalwarts Mr. Lovell Prabhu and Mr. Rahul Dev Shetty will direct and choreograph all the shows. Raja Banerji, General Manager Marketing - Pernod Ricard India, the presenting sponsors of the fashion week comments, “Blenders Pride has been at the vanguard of fashion with an association built over the years. Punjab is an important market and the brands participation only helps build this association further.”

The second day opening of the fashion week saw nationally acclaimed Kolkata based designer Jaya Misra, cradle of budding designers from the iNIFD and celebrity designer Riyaz Gangji showcasing their collections on the ramp

The uber talented Kolkata-based, Mumbai-born fashion designer, Jaya Misra, always had a penchant for clothes with a strong work ethic and natural flair for design. The collection - Bridal Aura depicts absolute poise and panache dripped in the richness of bridal hues which symbolizes the alarming emanation a bride gives through her presence. The collection saw an array of options for brides from ready to wear and narrow palla sarees to a- line suits and lehngas. Luxurious fabrics used in the ensemble offers the best of shimmer chiffon, georgette, lace, net, velvet and brocade that look and feel rich and beautiful. Beautiful Diva and Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 Srishti Rana was seen flaunting the designer’s outfit on the ramp.

Inter National Institute of Fashion Design Ludhiana is a name to reckon with in the field of fashion design not just in Northern India but has caught fancy of aspiring designers from other parts of the country too. The institute focuses on providing state of the art facilities and has produced over 3000 designers in the last 18 years. The budding designers of INIFD Ludhiana will also showcase their creativity through a collection comprising of over 30 garments

Excellent craftsmanship and high attention to detailing define the ‘Libas’ by designer par excellence Riyaz Gangji. Creating impeccably flawless garments with perfect cuts is an art which Riyaz is well versed in Bollywood. His collection specializes in contemporary and rich ethnic Indian men’s and woman’s wear designed in elegant styles and cut from richly woven fabrics; bridal lehengas, sarees, chaniya cholis, Bandhgalas, Sherwanis, Achkans, jodhpuris. Model turned actor Gavie Chahal walked showcasing the style Riyaz creates.

Celebrating the spirit of fashion, in the fifth season, BPPIFW has collaborated with presenting sponsor Blenders Pride in association
with Geetanjili Lifestyle, and strategic collaborations with Kingfisher Ultra, Pinnacle D Dreams, Da Milano, Morellato Time, Ritu Kolentine, iNIFD, Urban Mélange and 95 BIG FM while the Radisson Blu Hotel, MBD Ludhiana, is the venue and official hospitality partner.
