CHANDIGARH: Keeping in view inclement weather and heavy downpour in the city and adjoining areas from last 48 hours, the venue of ‘Kisan Sammellan’ of four day Progressive Punjab Agriculture Summit from February 16-19, has been shifted from Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial in Chapparchiri (Mohali) to the New Vegetable and Fruit Market, Phase 11 (Sector 65-A) Mohali.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that a decision to this effect was taken by the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal after a detailed meeting with the senior officers of the state government while reviewing the arrangements of the mega event, this morning at his residence. Later in the afternoon, the Chief Minister along with the battery of senior officers visited the site of the function at Chapparchiri to review the situation on the spot as the venue of ‘Kisan Sammellan’ was badly submerged in rain water rendering its venue marshy. However all other events related to PPAS including inauguration of agro-tech exhibition by the Chief Minister on February 16 at 11:30 am and technical sessions on the following days would be held as per already stipulated scheduled at Chapparchiri, added the spokesperson.
