Big jolt to Congress, Jagmeet Singh Brar resigns citing humilation by party

CHANDIGARH: Former MP and Congress Working Committee (CWC) Jagmeet Singh Brar today announced to resign from the Congress party after 35 years of his association. He cited the his humilation in the party as reason to resign.

Whie adressing a press conference here Jagmeet Brar said in an emotional note read by him, he said, " I an sure all of you know it that there is limit to everything, also to the amount of humiliation any respectable political mid is ready to tolerate. And there is also a limit to wait one can generously grant to get that "punishment" revoked.

It is recalled that Brar was expelled by AICC President following he wrote a letter to the party president seeking to revamp the party after debacle in the Lok Sabha poll. He said that Congress must do inbtrospection that why it got 144 seats in Lok Sabha elections.

Jagmeet Singh said that as per reports in the media that he might join BJP, is still immature to say which way he will go. "I will consult my freinds across Punjab to take a final decision, he stated. On January 6, he would go to village Marauli in Ropar district to pay tribute to martyr Kanshi Ram who sacrificed his life in frededom struggle much before Lal Lajpat Rai.

He refused to reply the questions if he is joining BJP on Jnuary 22 when BJP president Amit Shah would launch anti-drug campaign from Amritsar. In reply to a question he said that he had found that BJP is only party which is not promoting family culture in poltics. Lashing heavily on SAD, he said that all eligible family members of Badal family were into the politics and controls the government.

Brar said that Punjab was passing through a very alrmin g phase and drugs are the core issue at present. In the 2007 assembly elections also drugs would remain the key issue because it is the question of survival of a whole generation of Punjab. He said that SAD was trying to downplay the summoning of revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia by Enforcement Directorate.f "This is not the small issue", he added.
