Drug woth Rs 30 Cr smuggled from Pakistan seized on Indo-Pak Border

AMRITSAR: Border Security Force(BSF) here today has seized Six Kilogram heroin (Drug) having value Rs 30 Crores as per the international black market. The drug was smuggled to India from Pakistan.

Confirming the seizure BSF DIG Mr. RPS Jaswal said that seizure of six kilogram drug was matured along with one Pakistani mobile with Pakistani sim at Border out Post (BOP) Chhanmula.

Giving detail about the incident, Jaswal said the troops were on high alert as intelligence inputs were received regarding threat of smuggling from the area of Chhanmula Sector. BSF troops on Indo-Pak border have recovered six kilogram of contraband heroin and one Mobile phone with a Pak sim near Border Security fence.

Adding further he said that in today’s seizure the smugglers had put the drugs in small cloth bag with a string to throw the consignment to a far distance to avoid detection by BSF Sentry.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border from smuggling point of view especially in view of wheat crops and adverse weather conditions which give cover to these Anti-National Elements, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier Mr. Anil Paliwal, has recently issued operational guidelines to further strengthen border domination so as to effectively check the menace of narcotics smuggling and activities of Anti National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan.
